Garden of Summer Delights

It is just about mid-way through the summer, and farmers’ road side stands are popping up everywhere. Their baskets overflow with fruits and vegetables and look like a rainbow; a full spectrum of eggplants, from pale white to deep purple, bright red tomatoes are best when eaten fresh from the field still warm from the sun, and yellow corn so sweet and tender that it melts in your mouth. Peach orchards down the road, trees with short scraggly branches weighted down with plump ripe fruit, send their fragrances wafting through the air like fresh cut roses. Ahh, summer, when we can come to our senses through our senses!

“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.” –Henry James

I wanted this piece to have the look of an antique botanical print. Each highlighted food name when clicked on will take you to an easy delicious recipe. Hope you enjoy!
