Here is my interpretation of this week’s IF word prompt, “paisley,” as influenced by the art of Ernst Haeckel. Paisley forms have an organic, sort of single-cell-organism quality (think paramecium). Ernst Haeckel, a German naturalist, biologist and artist created hundreds of color and black and white detailed illustrations known as his “Artforms of Nature”. He coined the term ecology, and from his writings titled “The Riddle of the Universe” came the genesis of the word riddle. His detailed and organized technique of painting and displaying natural subjects, elevated them to things of astonishing beauty.
I had a lot of fun with this project. It was doodling on a whole new level !
