Ned was just about to find out why he woke up with a mysterious yen for mosquitoes and gnats.
Okay so this is a bit strange, I admit. Last night I was sitting out on the porch at dusk, watching dozens of little brown bats swooping and diving after insects. I decided I would do something with a bat for this week’s prompt, Mysterious. Not wanting to do the obvious spooky haunted house or graveyard, I came up with this. Here is Ned, splashing some cold water on his face; he’s not quite awake yet, but he will be…very soon.
P.S. I’m a weirdo.

Oooo I wonder how he came to be this way. Super illustration.
Made me smile and think of my mum she has had 3 bats in her house this week and the mystery is how they are getting in as she hasn’t had the windows open at all.

heheheheh! So the joy is really in the anticipation? But the joy is for us, as we grin and imagine the look of horror on this poor creature;s face when he realises … just love how you have presented this, how yhou have captured the moment, and how the words add so much meaning to the image – and vice versa – a great balance!

What’ll happen once he awake? lol. Very incredible idea, while I’m here stuck doing my own progress and then I submit nothing this week. :]

Good one, Heidi! I wonder if Ned’s seen his face in the mirror yet…?
Anyway, thanks so much for your wonderful comment on my Sai Baba work. You shared a fascinating story and it got me thinking more about these extraordinary characters who touch and move people in their own ways.
